As the Bondi Farmers market motto is “Fresh-Local-Seasonal”…it seems that THIS is the season for crunchy granola!
While regular traders during 2011, the comforting company of Farmer Jo was last experienced during Decembers festive season. As you can imagine, we are overjoyed to welcome back the cereal stallholders whose whole grain goods make a healthy hearty breakfast, a cheeky snack or even more delicious when included in dessert!
With a triumphant return, Sally from FARMER JO is all too eager to spread the tasty message of their potted products “Want Me, Eat Me, Love Me” with all that is rolled or toasted.“The Story of Farmer Jo began three years ago on a road trip with my husband, 4 month old baby and our scruffy but adorable hound. The drive is beautiful and takes around 4 hours, I am a new mother who is still work obsessed, during this drive I bombard my husband with home based business ideas, until he finally interrupts and suggests the idea of homemade muesli……. Perfect!”

“We are both lovers of good muesli and eat this staple breakfast at least 5 days a week. I am an early riser and have a morning ritual of dressing the table for breakfast before those around me awake. A linen cloth, a fresh flower or herb sprig picked from our courtyard garden in any makeshift vase I choose, vintage butter knives from all over and lots of porcelain. Of course, there are mornings when the only person sitting at the table is me, but I can think of worse things! Inspired by my morning ritual I decided to create muesli that not only tastes good but looks great on my breakfast table. Five delicious flavours were created over many months of muesli creativity, consumption and laughter.”

“We opened our head kitchen and espresso bar in Surry Hills at 45 Hutchison Street a year ago – a place where you can come and see the muesli being toasted, taste, smell and indulge. Open 7 days from 6:30ish till 1:30ish, our focus is breakfast complimented by coffee and some toasted breads and treats.”
We welcome back Farmer Jo and cannot wait to get our mits on the mouth-watering morning meal that has been missed this year. To find fun in your fibre, come down to reacquaint yourself with muesli musings Saturday June 16 and say Hello to Farmer Jo!
